Partnerships

Royal Developments and The Crossing have partnered together to develop a year-long work-based learning program designed to provide at-risk high school students with a comprehensive, hands-on, immersive experience that blends theory and practical skills through the AWS (American Welding Society) accredited welding curriculum.
Throughout the program, students will be mentored by experienced professionals, allowing them to observe and participate in active projects happening in the RD warehouse. The program will be centered around the health and safety of all individuals on the warehouse floor. RD will demonstrate proper safe operation practices as students learn throughout the year.

The program will follow the AWS Fundamentals of Welding curriculum. Students will learn theory and will then be able to put their knowledge into practice once on the warehouse floor. The goal for each student is to complete the work-based learning program through successfully passing the AWS theory coursework and skills tests, as well as pass 2 final exams held off-site at an accredited testing facility; allowing students the opportunity to become certified in welding.
Students will develop a well-rounded perspective of the challenges and rewards of working in the welding trades field, gaining firsthand experience that will inform their educational and career choices in the years to come.
Royal Developments has also partnered with Core, a Vocational Training Program that provides training to individuals with disabilities to learn the skills of welding. Core provides participants with job skills training and work experiences that are necessary to achieve meaningful and gainful employment.
Royal Developments is committed to offering support to both The Crossing and Core as each of our organizations aim to create safe and service-oriented environments for the benefit of education and professional development to people of all abilities.
